From its revival in 1987, the Band was governed on an informal basis by a small committee of founding members. In 2003, to establish a formal governance structure, a Constitution was created and adopted by the band. The constitution allowed the Band to do fundraising and apply for grants to support its continued operation.
In 2019, the Band formally incorporated as a nonprofit under the BC Societies Act, as the British Columbia Regiment Band Society. Each year, we elect a board of directors to guide the strategic direction of the Band and the Society. Our Band Governor, with the advice of the Society, appoints senior staff to run the day to day operations of the band, although many board members assist with Band operations as well.
